What type of routine should I use to teach kids yoga?
I was asked today to do a short (15 minutes) for a yoga session Girl Scouts in the company of two weeks. Girls 6 years old. I have a basic knowledge of yoga, and practice once a week, but I know how to have A) B structured) easily and C) FUN! Any advice?
I took a yoga class before, and I forget all the proper terminology and all …. but I would have them do poses that may be related to animals in some way. They seem to be the easiest, and you can tie the "animal" thing in how animals are part of nature, and yoga connects you with nature, and so on. Once you know a few animal poses, maybe you can have each call girl raised an animal they have learned and see how fast you can get into the correct position. Then, maybe the girls can create their own positions on the basis of other animals – kids love that kind of creative things. Good luck!
